Alan is the latest king of Cu Sith Tribe of Doras Hill and friend to both Feoras and Sifla.
Appearance[]
Alan is a large Cu-Sith whose humanoid form's attire is not as presentable as Feoras' own, consisting only of white shirt and dark-colored pants. He also wears a bright red cloak to show his status as the king of Coin-Sith Tribe of Doras Hill.
Personality[]
As the contrast to the more active Feoras, Alan is very lazy despite being more capable than the former, so much that he spends much of his free time sleeping. Even so, he's just as competent if motivated enough and more open with the idea of enlisting others' aid in solving problems at hand. He also doesn't seem to be as biased as his kin or Cait-Sith given to his faint surprise upon the revelation of Fairy King of Doras Hill being a title meant to be shared among Sifla, king of Cat-Sith, and king of Coin-Sith.
As with Feoras with his position as the newly coronated king of Cat-Sith, Alan still has much to learn as the newly coronated king of Coin-Sith. While he cares towards the former despite their differences, Alan erroneously assumed his friend beyond reasoning when he let his resentments over the truth about the fairy king of Doras Hill, which unfortunately led to him punished also. After being restored back to normal by Akko and the current Sifla, and subsequently making amends with Sifla and Feoras, the three become the true fairy king of Doras Hill at long last and determined to carry out his responsibility at his fullest (he still has to deal his laziness, though).
History[]
Background[]
Alongside Feoras who groomed to be the heir for the throne of King of Cait-Sith of Doras Hill, Alan is the future King of Coin-Sith of Doras Hill who lived with Sifla's family leading the two knew both current Sifla and her grandmother. The friendship between the two was uneasy due to their respective people's rivalry that had since erupted once more, but opted to establish a truce for the sake of the baby modern-day Sifla. Although their relationships improved to the point where the same Sifla perceived the two as actual friends, it was not enough to quell their differences stemmed from their people's bias against one another. Three years prior to the present day, Alan was coronated to become the new leader for his people, a responsibility he was less than eager to carry.
Little Witch Academia: The Nonsensical Witch and the Country of Fairies[]
Alan is first seen at the territory of Coin-Sith of Doras Hill, taking a nap instead of helping his subjects dealing Amanda, Constanze, and Jasminka who intruded there while following Akko and co.. He finally awakes upon being approached by Akko herself who begs to him to return to the worried Sifla despite Feoras' warnings. Nevertheless, Akko's stubborness wins Alan over, motivating him to finally deal his and Feoras' appointment at Doras Hill. He even makes an unheard decision to let her join the trial for the position of the fairy king as well, justifying that there's no mention of it being Cat-Sith and Coin-Sith-exclusive. Naturally, Akko answers the challenge without even having Amanda encouraging her to do so albeit under the condition where she has Lotte and Sucy as the backup. Impressed by the Japanese witch-in-training's determination, Alan lets Amanda, Constanze, and Jasminka go as her extra assistance if she wishes to, adding that winning the title of fairy king is the only way for Akko and her friends to return to the outside world.
When they begin the trial in the earnest, Alan momentarily dozes off leading to the exasperated Feoras to wake him up. After their subsequent brief argument, Alan reveals a shocking truth and reason why he involved Akko and co. to begin with; no one has managed to succeed the original fairy king in the past three centuries and before then, the hill was a more peaceful place. With no time to lose, Feoras shares Alan along with the six friends a special concoction that has been prepared beforehand on Doras Stone's stone table, said to be handed down from the first fairy king and made of leaves of Doras Hill's thirteen sacred trees boiled in holy water to commence their trial together. After falling into a trance due to its psychoactive influence, Akko in particular as she experienced a vision of original Sifla comforting Feoras and Alan's predecessor, the group recover and see the early part of the trial has gone underway with the stone tablet reveals a hidden writing in Luna Alphabet that reveals the next step: Reviving all Sacred Trees of Doras Hill.
As they commence the trial starting with white birch tree, Feoras and Alan lecture Akko and co. that each tree of 13 sacred trees of Doras Hill represents a month in the fairy calendar (the same calendar established 1 fairy year consists of 13 months as opposed of mundane world's Earth 12) and their leaves serve as the source of power for Fairy King of Doras Hill as much as arguably ingredients for panacea they consumed earlier, highlighting their significance and why reviving them being part of the trial. They initially have no luck in reviving both white birch and rowan trees until Alan suggests them to consult with a piece of song pertaining 13 Sacred Trees of Doras Hill which reveals hints for how to proceed.
When they finally reach willow and hawthorn trees, the endeavor to revive both see Akko learning the truth about Fairy King of Doras Hill which contrasted to what everyone, Feoras and Alan in particular, belived in; the title of fairy king is shared by three people instead of one; a Sifla, a Cat-Sith king, and a Cu-Sith king all along. Unlike Feoras, Alan is having a second thought about what his proud brethren and Cait-Sith believed in regarding the true nature of Fairy King of Doras Hill, citing such revelation correlates with how they won't make it this far without Akko and co.'s help. Nevertheless, the group continue revitalizing remaining trees with clues provided by Alan's part of the song.
By the time they reach 11th Sacred Tree of Doras Hill, an ivy that grew about a big stone marker around the same height as other 13 sacred trees, Feoras, Alan, and Akko are brought upon the presence of Sifla the 1st. Alan is dismayed by how far darkness consumed Feoras' heart when the latter expresses his desire to become the all-powerful fairy king who shall subjugate Coin-Sith along with the rest of fairies of Doras Hill and silence those who question him, all in his own resentments over the truth of Fairy King of Doras Hill long dismissed by his proud brethren. Seeing his friend beyond reasoning, Alan can't help but obliged to put him in his place. Consequently, after breaking up their fight, the disappointed Sifla the 1st gives the two great power so they can fight as they please with the helpless Akko only able to watch things unfold before her eyes.
The cursed Feoras and Alan turned into out-of-control kaijus who bring their fight toward the area where the rest of Luna Nova students, Finnelan, and Ursula gathered. It appears their hubris have sealed their fates until Sifla steps in and joins forces with Akko and co. as well as the reluctant Diana, having enough with her helplessness that held her back all this time and resolving to redeem herself for her share of mistake which caused this mess. Moreover, despite their current state of being made it impossible for them to stop themselves, Feoras and Alan can still recognize their dear friend, as the two cry in shame upon her attempts to reach them. Nevertheless, it takes Sifla's Stellar Purge Spell in conjunction of Shiny Rod's magic and panacea Sucy brewed out of leaves of 13 Sacred Trees of Doras Hill that Feoras and Alan finally restored to their normal selves.
After receiving an earful from Diana for their troubles, Feoras, Alan, and Sifla make amends with each other. He and Feoras then thank Akko for her help. Alan then promises to be more active from there on even if it's just a little bit, though that doesn't stop him from asking Constanze to build him a personal vehicle for "extra dignity". They then join the others in a picnic as the well-deserved rest and recuperation from the whole fiasco. This is also when Sifla brings up her late grandmother's teachings as well as why the would-be king of Cat-Sith memorized the first half of the overall song of the Fairy King while the would-be king of Cu-Sith the rest from start. As they sing the complete song in unison, they magically bring forth the shooting star thus cementing their shared position as the fairy king of Doras Hill.
Abilities and Equipment[]
Alan is shown to be able to change between his more dog-like quadrupedal form and anthropomorphic one, latter which allows him to wear his regal garb as the king of Coin Sith Tribe of Doras Hill.
Despite being lazy, Alan is implied by Feoras to be as capable as the latter in many things. Notably, Feoras described him to be sharper than anyone else, able to move nimbly and jump higher than other Coin-Sith — too powerful for untrained witches to handle. Although, not counting his cursed state which comparable to Feoras' own, his overall combat abilities remained to be seen.
