The young girl that would become Annabel Crème the 12th grew up reading the Night Fall novels, becoming very attached to them. At some point, she was chosen to be the new writer of the novels, however, her stories were not very popular among fans, who criticized much. Because of this, she decided to organize a special event during the release of her latest book to find someone to replace her as Annabel. This person ends up being Lotte, to whom she hands her the pen and then flees to a garden of hydrangeas using a teleportation magic item. Lotte manages to find her and manages to convince her that she is a great writer and that she must believe in her talent no matter what other people say. Annabel finally decides to continue writing the stories of Night Fall.

Facing a writer's block, Annabel decides to go to Luna Nova in hopes for new inspirations upon remembering her encounter with Lotte prior. For that, she sneaks into one of food trucks as they depart to Luna Nova. However, she doesn't think far ahead enough that she winds up in trouble with one of goblin custodians. Fortunately, Lotte and Sucy see her as they are on their own business and bail her out of trouble.
Since she doesn't know where to start in her search for references at Luna Nova, Annabel has Lotte taking her into a tour around the academy, with Sucy covers up Lotte's absence by bewitching Akko who just shows up into the Finnish witch-in-training's likeness. Lotte also transmogrified Annabel's clothing into that of Luna Nova uniform to avoid unwanted attention. Sure enough, Wangari who passes by assumes Annabel to be a new student thus gives her one of Luna Nova pamphlets for her tour. Unknown to them, Barbara notices Annabel's presence while helping Hannah in Lukić's chores.
Having taken notes about Luna Nova throughout her tour so far, Annabel reviews what she learned and to her dismay, still not getting somewhere for her upcoming volume. She shots down Lotte's suggestion about adding a new character who serves as a new obstacle for Edgar and Arthur to face, perhaps as either rival or someone who makes things between them and Belle more complicated than it already did. To their confusion, someone expresses their agreement out loud before leaving the scene while still out of their sight.
Continuing their conversation at the courtyard, Annabel is assured by Lotte that she'll be able to figure out something new eventually and improve her writings. Their conversation is soon joined by the interloper from prior who corrects Lotte once again, this time about the mishap revolving Edgar and Arthur switching bodies. The interloper even provides a valuable advice to lotte that a real pro fan won't exploit their ties with their idol to influence their works. Unfortunately, said interloper is soon interrupted by Hannah who unwittiny reveals her identity to be Barbara herself. Overwhelmed by this, Barbara runs off, much to everyone's confusion. Still, this turn of events finally provides what Annabel searches for despite initially amused by it thus departs the academy, much to Lotte's surprise and confusion.
Through her brief time in Luna Nova, Annabel finally comes up with a new story, one about Belle and co.'s fateful encounter with a mischievous who sought to befriend them only for her insecurity make things complicated for everyone.
