Chapter 15 is the fiftheenth chapter of the Little Witch Academia manga series adaptation illustrated by Keisuke Satō as well as the second part of its four-parter finale.
Overview[]
Luna Nova receives the invitation to participate against another school in a interschool broom race. However, Diana suffers from burning disease and can not compete. Akko asks Ursula to help her with some magic that allows her to fly to replace Diana, but Ursula reminds her that she can not achieve something quickly. While Hannah, Barbara, Lotte and Sucy gather the ingredients to make the medicine that will cure Diana, the students of Luna Nova give up the race knowing that Diana will not compete. Amanda, Constance and Jasminka offer themselves to substitutes, but in the absence of the fourth member, the rival school headmistress offers Akko as a participant having heard about how she flew in the Shooting Star.

By the time Hannah and Barbara discovered their roommate's awful condition, Headmistress Holbrooke and Finnelan are having an important discussion with the headmistress of another magic school regarding the upcoming interschool broom race in a bid to improve both academies' relationships. Finnelan has her doubts regarding the events, but Holbrooke reassures her that Luna Nova has Diana as its champion. It is then Hannah and Barbara hastily barged into the meeting to inform about Diana's sickness, much to their horror.
Examining the condition of the academy's top student, Lukić reassures Miranda Holbrooke, Hannah, Barbara Parker, and Finnelan that Diana suffers Burning Sickness, a sickness where one's temperature escalated as if being burned at the stake and regrettably, they ran out of its medicine at the moment. Upon hearing the news about the interschool broom race, Diana pleaded to participate only to be denied by the Headmistress due to her current condition. Lukić then recalled that her best student, Sucy, might be able to solve this dilemma, leading Hannah and Barbara to seek the Manbavaran's assistance.
Entering red team's dorm room to inform its occupants about both the interschool broom race and Diana's condition, Hannah and Barbara are dismayed that not only Sucy has no ingredients for the medicine to cure Burning Sickness, but also indifferent to such matters. The same cannot be said to Akko who knows better Shiny Chariot won't stay quiet about the crisis and sets out to ask Ursula whether there's something she can do, but not before declaring that she also wishes to surpass Diana. While Hannah expresses her doubts about the Japanese witch-in-training, Lotte manages to convince Sucy to help the blue team gathering the ingredients.
At Ursula's office, Akko is disheartened to hear from Ursula that there's indeed nothing she can do about the upcoming interschool broom race without the medicine for curing Burning Sickness before decides to take her rival's place instead despite her own inability to fly with her broom. Calming down the Japanese witch-in-training who demands her means to compensate her current shortcoming, Ursula points out to Akko that there's no shortcut for immediate result before revealing the Second Word of Seven Words of Arcturus, "Phaidoari Afairynghor", citing its meaning where one can't simply have things they dream for, but one'll get their reward if they work on it instead. Returning to her dorm room, Akko finally learned that her friends have already set out for the cure's ingredients through Lotte's note, prompting the Japanese witch-in-training to remind herself that it's not the time to be depressed and that there's still something she can do.
Meanwhile, Lotte, Sucy, Hannah, and Barbara are chasing an elusive rabbit for one of its legs which essential for completing the medicine for curing burning sickness. Despite their difficulties and Hannah and Sucy arguing, the group managed to gather everything they need before making haste to return to Luna Nova.
Back at Luna Nova, Akko has spent the entire early morning attempting to fly with her broom to no avail. As she recalling on what Ursula told her in the previous night, Amanda, Constanze, and Jasminka show up to inform her that other students have gathered at the courtyard to meet the rival school's professor and her team in the upcoming interschool broom race. Putting aside her doubts over her abilities, she joins the three in the meeting along with the rest.
With all students of Luna Nova gathered up except Lotte, Sucy, Hannah, and Barbara, Nelson introduces the professor from the rival school who in turn, introduces her four students led by Miraj. Nelson then brings in four girls she personally chosen as Luna Nova's representatives; Irene, Shao-Yi, Katya, and Verochka. Such decision dismayed the rest of Luna Nova students whose morale dropped further as soon as Nelson reluctantly informed everyone about Diana's sickness. In the midst of their uncertainty, Amanda, Constanze, and Jasminka offer to take the distressed group's place, a decision Nelson reluctantly agrees as the latter gladly let the three take their place. It is then the rival school professor made an unexpected decision to choose Akko as her team's anchor, citing that she briefly managed to ride the legendary Shooting Star as the proof of her supposed talent...

- Considering Akko manages to perform Metamorphosis Magic with greater success for the first time albeit the end result being a winged elephant during the final part of the manga's four-parter finale, the whole event from Annabel Crème the 12th's sudden visit to Luna Nova during which Lotte learns Barbara's passion for Night Fall series to Akko and Diana winning the interschool broom race that secretly orchestrated by Woodward suggestively take place sometime between "Bee Commotion" and two-parter first cour finale ("What You Will" and "Samhain Magic").
- The four-parter finale, however, had a contradicting point where Akko learned about the Second Word of the Seven Words of Arcturus when consulting with Ursula about Luna Nova's future in facing the upcoming interschool broom race as opposed of asking whether she and Shiny Chariot are classmates during their school days unaware that they are the same person as shown in "Blue Moon". This in turn, indicated the events of said episode and two-parter first cour finale will be played differently had the manga continued just like its first and second chapters with "A New Beginning" and fifth and sixth chapter with "Luna Nova and the White Dragon".
