Overview

Akko, Lotte, and Sucy manage to return the Shooting Star to the Magic Item Cafe after it was stolen. However, Akko decides that it must be returned to its original owner who went missing. Despite receiving no support, she sets off to find the owner on her own, and after witnessing her efforts, Lotte decides to help in an act of solidarity, as both have been bullied during their childhoods. Meanwhile, Sucy finds an article on the Shooting Star explaining the death of its original owner and shows it to Akko. Suddenly, the Shooting Star flies on its own, as the girls grab onto it. High up in the sky, the broom tells them that the spirits are born inside of it. The girls later tell the cafe owner that the spirit of the Shooting Star decided to embark on a journey to find a worthy owner.

Summary

The chapter begins with the introduction of Shooting Star, the legendary sentient flying broom said to be able to fly across the entire globe in one day, which soon followed by Akko, Lotte, and Sucy somehow recaptured it. Akko rightfully claimed she was not the one who steals it before the latest Luna Nova Cup when Sucy brought up the matter that started their current predicament, but believed the broom should be returned to its rightful owner as opposed to locked inside Magic Item Cafe once again and if possible, asking the owner in question to apply whatever formula placed within Shooting Star into her broom in return along the way. Lotte argues the unlikelihood of her contacting the broom's faery due to it not old enough and that its out-of-control behavior attributed more to whatever magic which powered it, while Sucy simply laughed at the suggestion because she mentioned a passage taken from "My First Broom Ride" which is an elementary school-level textbook. Hurt by Sucy's indifferent remark, Akko runs off in tears, indirectly reminded Lotte of how the Finnish had to endure similar mistreatments from mundane children who wary of her magical background and gift to speak with faeries.

Later at Luna Nova, Lotte and Sucy discovered not even heartbreak could stop Akko from her search for Shooting Star's owner, as she goes so far as placing wanted posters all over the academy and got into trouble with Finnelan in the process. It is then Lotte tells Sucy that she can relate with Akko a little bit as both were misunderstood by others for their respective reason. Although, as they join the brunette to clean up the latter's mess under the strict professor's demand, Sucy seemingly remains indifferent and claimed that she would pass, much to her roommate's dismay. Or so it seemed...

Returning to the Cafe, Akko, and Lotte begin the search starting by inquiring faeries which inhabiting old objects there in front of the pleasantly surprised cafe proprietor since it's also the first time he is seeing faeries after hearing stories about them. When neither of the summoned faeries know the answer they seek, the Finnish decided to try to contact the faery within Shooting Star itself while Akko sprints off to ask the townspeople instead. In her attempt to communicate with the entity that may inhabiting the legendary broom, Lotte recalls on her grandmother's teachings pertaining faeries until she got interrupted by the arrival of Akko and, to their surprise, Sucy. It's revealed that Sucy began her search at the library leading her discovering an article pertaining Shooting Star's owner who had since passed away in November 1, 1985, but not without having her "magical super-delivery service" recorded in the Guiness World Record books during her time with the broom. Saddened by this, Akko apologized to Shooting Star for failing it.

But suddenly, as soon as she turns her back, Shooting Star trashes its cage free, seemingly lashing out in grief. Knocking the café proprietor into submission, the legendary broom flies off the café before unexpectedly return to take the three friends with it to the sky, causing panic among nearby pedestrians in the process. It is then Akko, Lotte, and Sucy witness the miraculous birth of Shooting Star own faery, which is true to the statement of Lotte's grandmother; instead of entering old items out of nowhere, old item faeries ARE embodiment of very object they inhabited. Through its newborn faery, Shooting Star thanked the girl for their help and departed, but not without telling them that it would find its new master on its own instead.

The three friends then tell the café proprietor about what just transpired. Despite his initial skepticism, he eventually accepted their explanation and ruled out the possibility of Akko being the thief under Lotte's insistence. However, in the light of the mess the legendary broom made, the girls had to clean up the whole thing in its stead, much to their dismay...

Trivia

  • The chapter serves as the sequel to "Don't Stop Me Now", as it involved Akko and co. recaptured Shooting Star and subsequently learned more about its background before eventually lost it again, though this also leaves a plot hole regarding how did they managed to do so in the first place.
    • Taking into account of the vast difference of their abilities (Shooting Star is as fast as it is strong and the girls' magical skills being average at best at the time), it can be inferred that the three managed to catch it through trickery assuming they did so on their own.
