Overview[]

Summary[]

Picking up from where previous chapter left off, Akko, Yūto, and their fellow contestants teleport back to Luna Nova in front of worried audience. It takes the recovering Yūto pointing out what she unknowingly wears on her head that Akko realizes she has Midnight Crown itself. Worried at first, the brunette hears the apparition's message about magic's purpose as something meant for helping others with her noble choice earlier proved such fact. The apparition further states that she'll find the rest of the answers for her questions eventually. Now that the winner of the interschool competition has been decided, Luna Nova is declared victor through its representative Akko, much to her, Lotte, and Sucy's joy as well as Barbara, Yūto, and Diana's disbelief. With the realization of her dream is up ahead, the brunette wastes no time to consult with the professor to try to arrange a magic show and importantly, figuring out how to properly harness its magic.

To Akko's dismay, it's too early for her to conduct a magic show as grand as Shiny Chariot's yet. Ursula discovers that its remaining ember is only enough for casting two high-tier spells while the planned show requires around 10 (much of its power reserves revealed to be already used to restore Yūto earlier). Fortunately for the brunette, the headmistress shows up and suggests her to carry out a street-level magic show instead, recalling on the nearest city's biggest streets Luna Nova rented for the duration of the competition. As the moved Akko sets out to make some preparations, the headmistress reassures the uncertain Ursula that the Japanese witch-in-training deserves to celebrate her success in the interschool competition between Luna Nova and Sorbates Academy after all in addition of relieving their academy's glorious days. Agreeing with the headmistress who brings up the French professor's time as Shiny Chariot, Ursula asks her to keep the matter a secret between them.

Later that night, red team begin working on preparations for the upcoming magic show which will take place on the next night. As the show basically street-level reenactment of Shiny Chariot's own as Sucy noted in its script, said preparations include a handmade dragon model Akko designed herself and printed advertisement to draw in would-be audience, and Akko's version of Shiny Chariot costume. Akko also enlists Diana and Yūto's assistance for the special endeavor.

On the next evening, two children can be seen playing with Akko's inert dragon model which basically a large balloon themed after western dragon as Lotte spreads printed advertisement about Akko's upcoming street magic show among pedestrians. Akko smiles upon the sight of the growing number of her would-be audience whereas Sucy uses one of her potions to grow rows of giant, comfy mushrooms as makeshift seats which she originally intended to be poisonous. Just then, the inert dragon model, which discreetly controlled by Diana and Yūto, comes to life and flies toward its intended position with one of said children still on to of it, much to her mother's panic. Thankfully, Akko shows up to snatch the little girl away before something worse happen and return her to her mother before reassuring that everything is under control.

Though the opening sequence of Akko's street magic show almost went off the script as the result of such small incident, the rest of it goes smoothly. Though it admittedly subpar in comparison of Shiny Chariot's own back then and Akko momentarily loses control over her magic broom thus prompting her to improvise with Sucy's aid who passes her a Dragee which allows her to grow a pair of angelic wings all while making it looks as if she jumps off her broom while doing so, the show captivates everyone as much as the latter nevertheless. Moreover, when it's finally the part where Akko defeats the dragon with a blast of Midnight Crown-enhanced Light Magic, the attack isn't just obliterate it into colorful fireworks, but also releases tons of gifts seemingly from within raining down upon everyone. The particular part of the show astonished Yūto who wonders whether it meant to be a surprise all along. Although impressed by Akko's wondrous display of magic as much as everyone else, Diana admits the last part being a bit childish in retrospect. Sucy on the other hand, remarks all of this to be the way Akko expresses her gratitude upon the one who inspires her to be what she is now as well as her latest achievement. Ursula, who observes everything from among the audience, smiles upon Akko's success.

As the gratitude of restoring him back during the conclusion of interschool competition between Luna Nova and Sorbates Academy, Yūto saves Akko from the fall due to the effects of her Dragee wearing off, all while once again reprimanding her to be mindful with amount of magic she uses. To Akko's delight, the little girl she saved earlier shows up to thank her and even looks forward the brunette's next magic show in the next year. Akko and Yūto continue what they left off in their conversation about why the latter resented the former so much. Turns out, their present differences rooted from a misunderstanding back during their elementary years; Akko unwittingly hurt Yūto's feelings by addressing him as a little, weak puppy which made her protective of her childhood friend, subsequently leading to him striving to be more confident in the first place. Yūto then confesses his feelings to Akko where he's much more straightforward in doing so than his previous feeble attempt only for the embarrassed Akko visibly taken aback by it that she asks him to repeat what he just said, much to his chagrin. The two remain embarrassed by the awkward love confession even during the group photo after the street magic show.

Akko, Lotte, and Sucy return to their dorm room at Luna Nova, tired yet happy by how the night went. With the Crown's magic will be fully recharged in the next decade and the prospect of her would become a stronger witch like Shiny Chariot by then, the brunette is uncertain whether the magical artifact will serve her well like it did recently. Much to Akko's embarrassment, the romantic tension between her and Yūto didn't go unnoticed by Sucy who casually brings it up.

The chapter ends with Akko's narration where she will look forward to fulfill her dreams once more, acknowledging that her strongest magic is indeed came from her self-belief. As she sleeps, Sucy writes "to be continued" on her cheek as the amused Lotte watches.
