Chilby is a Dryad and one of Woodward's acquaintances who debuted in Keisuke Satō's manga adaptation of the series.
Appearance[]
Chilby is the second tallest of her group, sporting dark short hair with two strands framing her face. She wears the same set of uniform as Miraj: a traditional witches hat with fabric wrapped at its base, a buckled cloak over a buttoned tunic with baggy sleeves and turtleneck underneath, a belt, as well as a pair of thigh-high boots where the right pair adorned with a belt at the top.
Personality[]
Chilby displays a cocky streak, boasting her ability in improvising during interschool broom flight.
History[]
Little Witch Academia (Keisuke Satō Manga)[]
Chapter 15[]
Chilby is one of four dryads who pose as a witch and representative from a rival school which challenges Luna Nova in an interschool brook competition. They are joined by Woodward who assumes the disguise of serene-looking headmistress of the same school as the latter introduces themselves to everyone at the Luna Nova's courtyard.
Chapter 16[]
When it's finally Chilby's turn in the interschool broom race, she unexpectedly hurls her broom at Amanda which the latter easily deflects before seemingly running on the air. As it turns out, Chilby did it to separate her broom into multiple floating platforms for her to dash through.
Chapter 17[]
Chilby passes her baton to Miraj upon reaching her while the latter is having a heated confrontation with Diana and Akko, and remains in her current position when they decide to go all-out in their part of the race.
Chilby, alongside her fellow dryads, unveil their true form as they teleported to parts unknown upon being dismissed by Woodward, having completed their task in testing Akko's resolve for trials ahead.
Relationships[]
Woodward[]
While not much is known about their relationship, it seems Woodward trusts her enough to help her testing Akko's resolve for her quest for remaining Seven Words of Arcturus hence why the ancient witch recruited her to begin with.
Abilities and Equipment[]
Much of Chilby's magical abilities, be it as a witch or dryad, are not fully explored. She does however, displayed remarkable speed and agility as demonstrated when leaping through floating pieces of her magic broom which seemingly designed to create stepping stones upon being thrown at certain distance.
