Giant Beetles are a race of magical insects featured in Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time.
Description[]
Giant Beetles are beetles with enormous size, with an average height around 1 meters. While similar with their regular counterparts in terms of physiology, they are much bigger and meridian glow in their body highlights their magical nature. While may not carnivorous like their smaller, regular counterparts, all variants are shown to be aggressive, so extreme precaution is required to deal them, even while they are on their own.
Giant beetles encountered by Akko and co. over the course of their exploration at seven regions accessible via. Sealed Door of Horologium Chamber with magic keys are mostly male. It's unclear how the female of these creatures looked like, though it can be assumed that they looked like their regular counterparts considering sexual dimorphism on normal beetles.

Charger Scarab[]

Charger Scarab's appearance and physiology matches that of scarab beetles. They have leaf green exoskeleton with lighter tone on abdomen. The meridian color of their body is yellow.
Impaler Beetle[]

Impaler beetle's physiology and appearance matches that of rhinoceros beetle. They have blue carapace with cyan abdomen. Like Charger Scarab, their meridian glow is yellow in color.
Mandibeetle[]

Mandibeetle looked like a cross between stag beetle and scarabs in appearance and physiology, though their mandibles are evidently shorter and bent inwards. They have red body with pink abdomen. Unlike both Impaler Beetle and Charger Scarab, their meridian glow is white.
Powers and Abilities[]
All giant beetles have strong carapace that resistant to damage as well as considerable brute force befitting to their size. They are noted to be strong enough to challenge large magical creatures; Impaler Beetle's horns stated to capable of piercing through a minotaur's hide, mandibeetle can cut logs with their sharp mandibles on ease, and charger scarab can damage foes and structures by ramming.
Like regular beetles, giant beetles can fly, though they didn't demonstrated this ability in the game, likely due to gameplay constraints.
