The Luna Nova Cup is is an annual broom relay competition organized at Luna Nova Magical Academy, which takes place at the end of May. It's a long-standing tradition where teams of three race in their magic brooms to carry a baton all way to the goal.

The race takes place through a special route through the grounds of Luna Nova. Each member of the team is placed in a specific relay point of the route, in each one it is necessary to pass the baton to its teammate so that it continues the race. The first team to reach the finish line is the winner. Any damage, loss, or poor handoffs of the baton will result in disqualification.
Despite being referred as such, baton used in Luna Nova Cup appears as a brown ring adorned with emerald gem embedded onto a gold piece rather than stick-like object typically used in mundane relay races. This proved to be an extra advantage for Sucy in helping her team winning 1333rd race despite Diana ended up become the victor in the end; because the young Manbavaran distracted Jasminka with well-placed donuts originally meant to cause her momentarily flying off the course, the young Antonenko passed Amanda one of said donuts by mistake leading to the latter's disqualification, a mistake she didn't realize until it's too late.[2][3]
Any student of Luna Nova can participate in the race whenever she enrolls in teams of three. The winning team receives a trophy and their photograph is placed in a showcase next to the winners of previous years.
