Potions are special liquids prepared by witches and possibly their male counterpart wizards that trigger various magical effects. A few witches, including Professor Lukić, Sucy, and her mother, specialize in potions.
Description
Potions are brewed with certain ingredients and a specific process of preparation. Misuse of ingredients or an error in preparation may cause undesirable effects. Some potions are meant to be consumed to be effective, while others can be used to attack the target.
Potions are prepared mainly in fire cauldrons and stored in small bottles. Some potions are required to be used in combination with a spell, but most can do their magical effects without them. Latter variant provides field advantage for magic users who wish to conserve their magic reserves (especially in areas where magic cannot be used freely) or lacking sufficient aptitude in performing magic through traditional means.[1][2]
Relative to how they are brewed, potions can alternatively be processed into powder-like (ex. Explosive Powder Potion, Weapon-Wand Fusion Powder, and powder variant of Mending Magic Potion)[1] or jell-like substance (ex. Magic Glue and its stronger variant Sealing Glue).[3]
Certain potions are made specifically as cure for certain diseases which more than often supernatural in nature, such as Greenman Disease Antidote to counter the namesake disease or one to wake those who afflicted with Sleeping Witch Sickness.[1]
