Little Witch Academia Wiki

The young 6-year-old girl who inherited the title of Sifla and became friends with Feoras and Alan.

Appearance[]

She was a delicate girl with long silver hair – the color of the moon, as soft as cotton candy. She covered her head with a hood and wore a pure-white dress under her coat. I swear she could've stepped right out of a fairy tale. And her beauty gave Diana a run for her money.

—Akko describing Sifla.

Sifla is a delicate-looking 6-year-old girl with long silver hair and large eyes. Her attire consists of a dark-colored hooded coat with short puffy sleeves and white edges worn over a pure-white dress, and a pair of shoes. She also adorns her coat's hood with a bow.

Akko remarks she is much more beautiful than even Diana and seemingly appears out of a fairy tale.

Personality[]

When Akko and Co. meet her for the first time, Sifla is shown to be already knowledgeable when it comes to the properties of the leaves of 13 Sacred Trees of Doras Hill and evidently possesses everything she needs to become the land's latest guardian but lacks the confidence to carry out such important duty. Wallowing in her helplessness at first, it took her to fully understand what Akko told her regarding the truth about the fairy king of Doras Hill that had long been misunderstood by both Cait-Sith and Coin-Sith tribes of Doras Hill as well as the people of the magic community in lesser extent and later, witnessing how her inaction resulted in Feoras and Alan losing their path in addition of bonding with the Japanese for Sifla to eventually gain confidence in her abilities as the Hill's revered figure. Moreover, when she, Akko, Lotte, Sucy, and the reluctant Diana worked together to save the new kings of Cait-Sith and Coin-Sith themselves, Sifla displayed bravery and even maturity that impressed Akko, effectively becoming the proper guardian of Doras Hill whose presence commands respect and even awe among its inhabitants and other people from the magic community like her predecessors did.

History[]

Background[]

This Sifla spent much of her early life with her grandmother, Feoras, and Alan after her mother's passing and her father's disappearance. According to the latter two, she cried a lot every time they argued and thus had to put aside their difference stemmed from their proud brethren's ongoing rivalry for her sake. Her grandmother appeared to be a capable, if not downright accomplished teacher whose talent envied the professors of Luna Nova given that Sifla had learned most, if not all the things she needed to become the new guardian of Doras Hill prior to her passing once she reached the age of 6, and Sifla herself, in turn, taught Feoras and Alan important things for their upcoming role as their people's leaders. Even so, the last thing she needed was the confidence to carry out her duty to its fullest.

Little Witch Academia: The Nonsensical Witch and the Country of Fairies[]

Sometime prior to Luna Nova's latest visit to Doras Hill, Sifla's grandmother passed away from old age, leading her to assume her role prematurely, as she has yet to fully prepare herself mentally. Such a turn of events wasn't helped by Feoras and Alan's abrupt departure due to being summoned by their respective brethren who elected the two as their new leaders afterward, leaving Sifla mourning alone and too depressed to expect her Luna Nova associates. Whereas Finnelan and Ursula are left uncertain of what to do since the former is too occupied by the matter pertaining to contract renewal between their school and Sifla, the worried Akko, who is unsettled by the news as much as them along with the fact that she currently lives alone in her hut, decides to pay the newly appointed guardian of Doras Hill a visit and bring Lotte and Sucy along despite Diana implored them not to previously. However, Sifla eventually reveals herself once she and Lotte discover their common familiarity with the Night Fall series. After listening to her predicament, Akko and her roommates decide to set out for the Country of Faeries on Sifla's behalf, but not before the latter gives the Japanese one of her willow branch bracelets for such an endeavor.

Sifla isn't seen afterward until the gang's progress in reviving Doras Hill's sacred trees. When Akko places her hand over the fifth tree, the willow tree, she somehow momentarily projects her astral form into Sifla's hut thus allowing her to inform the new guardian of Doras Hill of their circumstances so far. While she can't help but be mixed by the news about Feoras and Alan's trial, the vision of her predecessor Akko informed to her reminds Sifla of the importance of her current role, giving her a second thought about what to do just as the Japanese witch returned to her body as abrupt as she appeared earlier.

Musing over what Akko just informed her, Sifla realizes that, to her horror, her inaction didn't help Feoras and Alan's situation as it later becomes apparent to the Japanese witch their denial over the true nature of Fairy King of Doras Hill — an issue they shared with their proud kin — and the burden of becoming their people's new leaders see the two losing their way thus subsequently angers Sifla the 1st. Just as Luna Nova witches got scattered by Feoras and Alan who brought their intense and brutal fight to the outside in their respective cursed forms due to a curse Sifla the 1st placed to punish them, she tearfully apologizes to the gang and Ursula before steeling her resolve to save her best friends even though Diana remains skeptical whether such endeavor still in the realm of possibility by that point. Lending Akko a ride with her broom because Amanda was too injured to carry the Japanese witch flying toward her cursed friends, Sifla initially pleads to Feoras and Alan to change back to normal. Though such an initial plan failed, she nonetheless confirms the two still keep a semblance of themselves, since her sheer presence resulted in them crying in sorrow before fighting each other once again.

With such confirmation, along with news that most, if not all of the 13 Sacred Trees of Doras Hill, have been revived in mind, Sifla instructs Sucy to brew a panacea out of the Trees' leaves as Diana buys them some time by casting Super Plant Restoration Spells to make the trees around corrupted Feoras and Alan grow larger and entangle them in process. As soon as the panacea is completed, Sifla shares a sip of the solution with Akko before taking one herself for a necessary power boost for casting a spell to purify the two, citing that she does so as a form of gratitude for the latter to inspire her to do the right thing. After carefully administering the remaining solution onto corrupted Feoras and Alan, Sifla, and Akko cast Stellar Purge Spell over the two simultaneously with their wand and Shiny Rod respectively and moonlight further empowering them, successfully restoring the two in a shower of stardust.

In the aftermath of the chaos, Sifla, along with the humbled Feoras and Alan, are berated by Diana who states that the whole fiasco could have been avoided had they worked together from the start, much to Akko's chagrin since they already had their lessons by that point. Nevertheless, since the gang and Professor Ursula don't have to immediately return to Luna Nova, Sifla, Feoras, and Alan decide to hold a picnic together with them for the night. Sifla then brings up what her late grandmother taught to her companions along with the importance of them working in harmony like what they should've been thus explaining why kings of Cat-Sith and Coin-Sith of Doras Hill must memorize their respective half of the song of Fairy King from start. With that, they sing the complete song together under the host of falling stars above everyone.

Abilities and Equipment[]

Despite her young age, Sifla has learned most, if not all skills she needs to be able to carry out her duty as the new guardian of Doras Hill, from the properties of leaves of the area's 13 Sacred Trees to magic spells required for the job (ex. Stellar Purge Spell), in addition of basic magic. Like other witches, her equipment includes, but is not limited to a wand, a magic broom, and potions. Interestingly, her wand is a standard variant of the same model as Luna Nova's own, suggesting either her mother, grandmother or one of her predecessors happened to be one of the academy's alumnae, which makes sense owing to their connection.

In addition to the aforementioned wands, brooms, and potions, Sifla possesses a pair of special bracelets made of willow branches which endow the wearer extra magic boost should they be exposed to moonlight. Both bracelets are also magically linked with one another; should Sifla give one of them to a person of her choosing, that person would be able to contact her through their projected astral form as Akko unwittingly demonstrated while working on reviving Willow Tree of 13 Sacred Trees of Doras Hill.
