Spellstone is a gem specialized to absorb and contain magic energy. They are featured in Chamber of Time.
Description[]
The appearance and design of spellstone usually vary between one and another, but they all share the same purpose; to absorb and contain a certain amount of magic from magical sources such as Sorcerers' Stone and ley lines like batteries where the stored energy then utilised for a variety of purposes. Magic batteries, special battery to power wands and flying brooms, are fashioned from spellstones. Fairy laborers of Luna Nova utilized a number of spellstones to keep themselves active in emergency cases such as when magic from the Sorcerer's Stone inaccessible, but even the amount of magic in those gems are limited that they had to use it sparingly.

Standard Spellstones[]
Standard spellstones take the appearance of multi-colored, octahedron-shaped gem that glow in magic. Aside used by Faery laborers of Luna Nova (and possibly witches) for variety of purposes, they can be traded with potions at one of the school's stores. The amount of energy stored by these spellstones arguably on the same level with that of magic batteries, if not lower.

Searing Sand Spellgem
Ornate red spellstone shaped like a sun with what appeared to be smiling face carved on it. Being one of two spellstones designed to power Magichron, it contains vast amounts of magic. It was found at Shaula Desert among loots in Shaula Ants' hive.

Frosted Snow Spellgem
Ornate blue spellstone shaped like an ornate snowflake. Being one of two spellstones designed to power Magichron, it contains vast amounts of magic. It was found at Gienah Tundra among loots near Divine Dragon's lair.
Construction[]
As the spellstones share similar purpose with Sorcerer's Stone as stated by Lotte, they are arguably made from similar materials. Materials in question however, are yet to be revealed.
